FEELING THRIFTY

I do love a bit of a hunt when it comes to shopping; I like to feel I’ve earned my purchases. Also regresses me to childhood when I would raid the dressing-up box not unlike raiding a vintage shop now, and what is a charity shop if not a pre-sieved vintage boutique? Be brave, skip the middle man and find your own vintage treasures through the musky smelling and moth bitten grandma cardigans (very A/W’10). Slight hyperbole and maybe I’m feeding the stereotype there just a touch. Fear not all the clothes are washed and in pretty good condition, some are even new; I know I have previously handed over some unworn items complete with tags to the charity bag. But you do need patience, persistence and a keen eye -you might not find anything on your first trip but don’t let that sway you. Current trends are often taken from old shapes and styles just look at the heavy revival of the 70s trend these past seasons! Anyway today this is what I found and I love it. The pairing of the buttons, little cuffs and lace trim collar. And anyway who could deny a £2 price tag?
